The Autumn’s Up Quilt Pattern

The Autumn’s Up quilt pattern is a traditionally pieced design that pairs beautifully with both solid and patterned fabrics, offering endless possibilities. Designed with confident beginners in mind, the pattern incorporates a variety of techniques like half-square triangles, flying geese, and stripes—perfect for elevating your quilting skills. It’s a fantastic way to practice new techniques while crafting a stunning quilt that will brighten up your space—and then you’ll get to proudly say, “Yeah, I made that!”

Autumn’s Up – The Summer’s End Version

My Autumn’s Up: Summer’s End version was originally inspired by the serene days leading up to the end of summer at the lake, where I live in East Tennessee. This time of year is truly special to me, as it captures the essence of saying goodbye to the long sunny days of summer and welcoming the cooler weather, changing leaves, and the calm of the lake, free from the busy boat traffic. Fall is absolutely my favorite season, which makes it only natural for the next colorway of “Autumn’s Up” to be inspired by the warm, golden hues of fall in Tennessee.

Autumn’s Up – The Fall in the Hollow Version

The Fall in the Hollow colorway of the Autumn’s Up pattern is definitely my favorite. It instantly makes me want to turn off the AC, light a fire in the fireplace, and curl up with a good book and a warm cup of coffee. It’s all about those cozy, comforting vibes—perfect for the season.

The Fabrics – Ruby & Bee Solids

Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Okay, cool, a quilt. But what about the fabric?” Well, I’ve got you covered (pun intended). For this project, I used Ruby and Bee Solids—the solid fabric that’s more reliable than your Wi-Fi connection. Seriously, their color cards are like a cheat code for quilters, it’s made choosing colorways and purchasing fabrics an absolute breeze. Hands down, one of the best investments I’ve made for my studio. We use it for every quilt pattern and colorway we design. With 70 gorgeous colors packed into a handy storage box, this set is all the goodness you need to create beautiful quilts with ease.I always purchase my Ruby & Bee solids from Hawthorne Fabrics because they carry all 70 colors in stock which makes ordering simple.

The Quilting

As a former longarmer, I absolutely geek out over the edge-to-edge patterns available on the market. Most of the time, I lean toward something more linear since it complements the vibe of most of my quilts. For the Summer’s End and Fall in the Hollow versions, I chose a simple straight-line pattern that I actually quilted myself. The simplicity of the design allows the quilt pattern to really shine without stealing the focus from the quilt itself.

I used a trusty 80/20 batting for both quilts. It’s got that perfect mix of comfy warmth, great drape, wrinkle resistance, and easy care—basically, it’s like the superhero of batting. It checks all the boxes for what I want in a sample quilt, and honestly, if batting could get an award, this one would be holding up a trophy. It’s definitely a studio favorite!

Colorways – Something for everyone

Colorways—Something for everyone! I love playing around with different color combos before I finally officially commit to a project. Here are a few that almost made the cut but might make a comeback someday (you never know!). All vector colorway versions include fabric details in case you want to recreate them yourself. And hey, don’t forget to share your versions with us on social media—seriously, we gasp every time someone remembers to tag us. It’s our favorite thing in the world. We’re basically like “Did they just… tag us?!?!”

The Delightful Duos Quilt Pattern

The Delightful Duos quilt was quite literally born in a dream—yes, I sometimes dream in quilts (doesn’t everyone?). I woke up with a vision of a sweet Valentine’s quilt, quickly jotted it down, and then…slept on it for, oh, just a few years. Why the delay? Honestly, I

The Peony Picnic Quilt Pattern

The Peony Picnic quilt pattern might look fancy, but don’t be fooled—it’s totally beginner-friendly (well, confident beginner-friendly). It’s a clever mix of traditional piecing and foundation paper piecing (FPP), which sounds intimidating, but I promise: it’s not. If you’ve never tried FPP before, don’t panic—it’s basically quilting with training
